April 15th, 2006 adminAccording to the Jerusalem Post, it appears Irish Jews are not important to their country. Comprising of less than 1 percent of the Irish population, the current census does not include a distinct checkbox for Jews in the religion category. Censuses before 2002 included Jewish as a choice, but now contain only seven choices with a box for “Other”.
It is not believed that there is any anti-Jewish intent in the decision.
